Dr. Cao obtained his Bachelor of Medicine majoring clinical medicine from Nanjing Medical University in July 2004. In 2005, Dr. Cao went to Providence College in USA as a visiting scholar. Dr. Cao got his PhD majoring pathobiology from Brown University from 2007-2011, when Dr. Cao was awarded “The Outstanding Self-Financed Student Abroad” from Chinese Ministry of Education. As first and/or corresponding author, Dr. Cao has so far published 16 peer-reviewed SCI papers, with the cumulative impact factor more than 83.010, which were cited more than 400 times. While applying two national patents, Dr. Cao was also invited by the 14 distinguish SCI journals to review a number of papers around the world. Current funding for Dr. Cao’s Lab include two grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, one grant from Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, and one form Chinese Ministry of Education as well as the Soochow University start-up fund for the recruited talents. In 2013, Dr. Cao was awarded as Doctors Aggregation Plan of Jiangsu Province.
